Everything You Need to Monitor Marketplace Listings
Classifindr watches Facebook Marketplace, Gumtree (AU and UK), Craigslist, Trade Me, Kijiji, and OfferUp on your behalf and delivers alerts through the channels you already use. Set up your searches once, define your rules, and let the system do the repetitive work of checking for new listings. Use Classifindr on the web or with our native iOS and Android apps for native push, filtered listing review, and search tuning wherever you are.
Alerts Worth Reading, Not Alerts to Ignore
The value of a marketplace alert is not speed alone. It is whether the alert you just received is worth tapping. Too much noise and you train yourself to ignore the feed. Too strict and useful listings can slip past. Classifindr threads the needle with three filter layers, each tunable, each applied after the platform's own search so you get both broader reach and finer precision than any raw marketplace feed can offer.
Search Parameters
Keywords, category, price, location, and radius. Your baseline filter, applied at the platform level so only listings that pass this first cut are ever evaluated further.
Rule Engine
Include and exclude keyword rules applied to each listing after fetch. A second, finer pass that catches what the platform's own search cannot express.
AI Relevance
A semantic final pass that evaluates whether each listing actually matches intent, catching mismatches that keyword rules cannot see (like "iPhone case" when you want a phone).
You control how strict each layer is. Start tight to keep the feed clean, then watch search health and loosen rules over time as you learn which alerts are worth reading. Tuning is part of the workflow, not a one-time setup.
As Fast As You Need, As Slow As You Like
Every search has its own check interval, picked by you. Use the fast tier for the deal you want to watch closely. Use the slow tier for the background watch that does not need to wake your phone. When a scheduled check finds a match, your alert is sent to your chosen channel.
Every 1 minute
For searches where timing matters. New listings can reach you sooner than with occasional manual checks.
Every 10 minutes
A solid balance for most searches. Quick enough for popular categories, gentle enough on your unit budget for everyday use.
Every 60 minutes
For the slow burn. Rare items, niche categories, or the watch you want to keep open in the background without spending much.
Choose a different speed for every search. Run one search at the 1 minute tier for an urgent hunt, then run five more at the 10 minute tier alongside it. Each one costs only what it needs to.
One Marketplace, Or As Many As You Want
Want to monitor only Facebook Marketplace? That is a perfectly normal way to use Classifindr, and the smallest plan covers it. Want one dashboard that watches whichever marketplaces are popular in your region (Gumtree AU, Gumtree UK, Craigslist, Trade Me, Kijiji, OfferUp, and Facebook Marketplace) at the same time? That works too. The choice is yours, and the price per search is the same either way.
A lot of alert tools are Facebook-only or US-only. Classifindr covers the marketplaces people in your country actually use, so an Australian, a Brit, a Kiwi, a Canadian, and an American can each get the alerts that matter to them without switching tools.
Each search runs independently on its own schedule, on the platform you pick. See all supported platforms.
Flexible Search Configuration
Every search starts with the parameters that matter to you: keywords, location, search radius, minimum and maximum price, category, and item condition. These filters run at the platform level, so only listings that pass your baseline criteria are ever evaluated.
Precise search configuration is the single most effective way to reduce noise. A search for "herman miller aeron" with a $200-$800 price range in Austin returns fundamentally different results from a broad "office chair" search with no filters. The tighter your parameters, the more relevant every alert becomes.
You can create multiple searches per platform, each with its own filters, rules, and notification preferences. See how to set up effective searches on our how it works page.
Smart Rule Engine
Platform search filters only go so far. The rule engine adds a second layer of precision after the fetch, letting you include or exclude listings based on specific keywords in the title, description, or both. This is where noise gets cut out before it ever reaches your phone.
Require "leather" on a jacket search and exclude "replica". Force-include when a listing mentions "urgent sale" or "moving". Ban the five words you know always signal junk in your category. Every rule is applied automatically on every check, so the only listings that trigger an alert are the ones you have explicitly said you want to see.
AI-Powered Listing Filtering
Keyword rules are a blunt instrument. They cannot tell that "iPhone case in new condition" is a case and not a phone, and they will happily let that alert through. The AI relevance closes that gap, evaluating whether each listing genuinely matches your intent, not just whether the right words appear in the right fields.
The outcome is fewer alerts you swipe away without looking. Your attention stays sharp, your notifications stay meaningful, and when a real match arrives you treat it like one, not like the hundredth false positive in a row.
AI filtering is part of the standard matching workflow. It shines when you are monitoring broad or ambiguous terms where keyword rules struggle, and it works alongside your search parameters and rules so relevance is treated as a normal part of every search.
Multi-Channel Notifications
Alerts are only useful if you actually see them. Classifindr delivers notifications through Discord, Telegram, Email, Web Push, and Mobile Push. You choose which channels to activate and can assign different channels to different searches.
Every notification is deduplicated at the channel level. If a listing matches multiple searches that share the same notification channel, you receive one alert, not several. This prevents notification fatigue and keeps your inbox or chat feed manageable even when you run many concurrent searches.
Assign different channels to different searches based on urgency. Route high-priority alerts to Telegram, Discord, or Mobile Push for faster personal review, and use Email or Web Push for lower-priority monitoring. Each channel works independently, so you can mix and match across all your searches.
Per-Search Health Monitoring
Every active search displays a health status so you always know whether it is running normally. The dashboard shows whether a search is healthy, experiencing temporary issues, or needs your attention.
This transparency matters because marketplace monitoring is inherently variable. Platform conditions change, and results can vary from one check to the next. Rather than leaving you guessing whether a search is still working, Classifindr surfaces this information directly.
You can see when a search last ran successfully, how many listings it evaluated in recent checks, and whether any errors occurred. If a search degrades, you know about it while there is still time to tune the search.
Account Security
Classifindr supports multiple sign-in options to keep your account secure. Use magic links or one-time codes sent to your email, sign in with Google or Apple, or set up passkeys for fast biometric authentication. No passwords to remember, reset, or have compromised.
The platform is designed to collect as little personal information as possible. Active sessions are visible in your account settings so you can review and revoke access from any device at any time.
Importantly, Classifindr never asks for or stores your marketplace login credentials. The system accesses only publicly available listing data. Your marketplace accounts remain entirely separate and untouched. Read more on our security page.
Unit-Based Billing
Classifindr uses a unit-based billing model instead of rigid feature tiers. You pay for the number of active searches you run, not for access to arbitrary feature bundles. Every user gets the same features; the only variable is how many searches you monitor concurrently.
Searches can be activated and deactivated at any time. If you find what you are looking for and no longer need a particular search, deactivate it and the unit becomes available for a different search. There is no penalty for pausing or reconfiguring your monitoring setup.
This flexibility means you are not locked into paying for capacity you do not use. Run one deal-hunter search this week, move those units to five slower background watches next week, or assign them to a few urgent searches when timing matters. See the details on our pricing page.
